Wall Mount Range Hood Installation

A wall mount range hood is an effective way to remove smoke, grease, and odors from your kitchen. Proper installation is crucial to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Planning and Preparation

Before starting the installation, plan the location of the range hood and ensure you have the necessary tools and materials. You will need a stud finder, drill, screwdriver, level, tape measure, and electrical wiring.

Locate the studs in the wall where the range hood will be mounted. Mark the center of the studs and use a level to draw a horizontal line connecting them. This line will be the bottom edge of the range hood.

Electrical Wiring

Most range hoods require a dedicated electrical circuit. Check the manufacturer's instructions for the required amperage and voltage. Run the electrical wiring from the circuit breaker or fuse box to the location of the range hood.

Connect the electrical wiring to the range hood according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure all connections are secure and use wire nuts to cap exposed wires.

Mounting the Range Hood

Hold the range hood up to the wall, aligning the bottom edge with the line you drew earlier. Use a stud finder to locate the studs behind the mounting holes on the range hood. Mark the locations of the studs on the wall.

Drill pilot holes into the studs at the marked locations. Insert the provided screws or bolts into the holes and tighten them until the range hood is securely mounted to the wall.

Ductwork Installation

The range hood must be connected to ductwork to exhaust air and fumes outside. Measure the distance from the range hood to the outside wall where the ductwork will exit. Cut the ductwork to length and attach it to the range hood using the provided adapter.

Run the ductwork to the outside wall, following the manufacturer's instructions. Secure the ductwork to the wall and seal any gaps with duct tape.
