Framing a Wall-Mounted TV
Installing a flat-screen television on a wall is an excellent way to save space and improve the aesthetics of a room. However, simply mounting the TV on the wall can leave it looking unfinished and out of place. Framing the TV with molding or trim can help to create a more polished and professional-looking installation.
There are a few different types of molding or trim that can be used to frame a wall-mounted TV. One popular option is picture frame molding, which is typically made of wood or MDF and has a beveled edge. Another option is crown molding, which is a more ornate type of molding that is often used to decorate the tops of walls and ceilings.
The size and style of the molding or trim that you choose will depend on the size and style of your TV and the overall décor of your room. For a large TV in a formal setting, you might choose a wide, ornate molding. For a smaller TV in a more casual setting, you might choose a narrower, simpler molding.
Once you have chosen the molding or trim, you will need to cut it to the desired size. If you are using picture frame molding, you will need to cut four pieces: two for the top and bottom of the frame and two for the sides. If you are using crown molding, you will need to cut four pieces for the top, bottom, and sides of the frame, and two additional pieces for the corners.
Once the molding or trim has been cut to size, you will need to attach it to the wall. You can do this using a variety of methods, such as nails, screws, or adhesive. If you are using nails or screws, be sure to countersink them so that they are flush with the surface of the molding.
Once the molding or trim has been attached to the wall, you can then mount the TV on the frame. Most TVs come with built-in mounting brackets. If your TV does not have built-in brackets, you can purchase a separate mounting bracket that is compatible with your TV.
Once the TV is mounted on the frame, you can then enjoy your new, professionally installed wall-mounted TV. Framing a wall-mounted TV is a relatively simple and inexpensive project that can make a big difference in the appearance of your room.
